SuperClaude v1.2.9 — Cache Timers, Velocity Arrows, Predictions & 10 More Changes
V1.2.8 shipped two days ago. V1.2.9 is already here — and it's a big one.
This release adds real-time cache visibility, usage speed tracking, smarter predictions, a revamped notification system for Pro users, and subscription-aware usage cards. We also cut two features that weren't meeting our accuracy standards. Here's the full breakdown.
What's New
Cache Timer — A live countdown now shows how long your current conversation stays cached. Hover for a tooltip explaining what caching means and why continuing a cached conversation is cheaper. You'll always know the best window to keep going.
Usage Velocity Trend — Your popup cards now display colored arrows indicating how fast you're burning through your allocation. Double up arrow means you're flying through it. Single arrow up means steady pace. Flat means stable. Arrow down means you're slowing down. One glance tells you whether you need to ease off or if you've got room to push.
Data Freshness Indicator — Every popup card now shows exactly when your usage data was last updated. No more guessing if you're looking at numbers from ten seconds ago or ten minutes ago.
Predictions for All Categories — Sonnet, 7-day, and Opus usage categories now include time-to-100% predictions. See when you're projected to hit your limit before it actually happens. 7-day predictions are locked behind Pro — 5-hour predictions remain free for everyone.
Subscription Tier Awareness — SuperClaude now detects your account tier — Free, Pro, Max x5, or Max x20 — and displays equivalent Free usage on your cards. If you're on Max x5, you'll see what your consumption would look like on a Free plan, giving you a real sense of how much headroom your subscription buys you.
Heartbeat Version Reporting — The extension heartbeat now sends the installed version to our backend. This lets us track version adoption across users and identify rollout issues faster from our admin dashboard.
Pro Notifications — Pro users now get a full notification suite: alerts when x2 usage periods start and end, streak milestones at 7, 14, 30, 60, and 100 days, and a weekly usage recap. Stay informed without constantly checking the dashboard.
Fixes
Export Pro License Detection — Pro license verification during data export was failing silently in certain cases. Added a fallback verification step so exports work reliably regardless of license check timing.
Removed
Token Counter & Context Bar — Removed. The token estimation was too inaccurate and was giving users a false sense of how much context space remained. We'd rather show nothing than show something misleading. If we bring this back, it'll be with a reliable data source.
Conversation Search — Pulled from this release. This feature needs more time to get right and will ship in a future version when it meets our quality bar.
Improvements
Blog Tag Filter — Tags with fewer than 3 articles are now hidden from the filter, keeping the blog navigation clean and useful.
